Hey Mercedes
Unorchestrated
cdep/12"

August 8, 2008

iPod: Pinback: Barnes

Today I start shipping the Hey Mercedes unorchestrated 12"s. The post office is going to hate me more than usual. I'm rolling over there after work with a loaded car full of the first batch with another batch going out early tomorrow. All pre-orders will be shipped within the week. Please be patient, this is a one man show and I'm still packing them up! Tom from Hobbledehoy received his well packed shipment from me (whew!) a few days ago in Australia and he'll be shipping abroad starting today too. Thanks again to everyone who ordered early!

iPod: My Morning Jacket: Lay Low

The green copies of the Hey Mercedes unorchestrated 12" were gone mid-afternoon on Wednesday for those who'd like to know. I still have about 310 black copies that need homes, so tell your friends. Remember the black ones are limited to 419. As always, email with questions!

Once again, I have not finished putting these together, expect orders to start shipping around August 8th.

iTunes: Minus The Bear: Pony Up!

I've kept this secret under my hat for too long. I am proud to present the newest GTA release, finally available for pre-order:

HM 12" 001

This is the limited edition 12" 45 rpm vinyl version of the Hey Mercedes unorchestrated CDEP released in May of 2005 on Grand Theft Autumn, finally seeing the light of day in 2008. There will be 521 hand numbered copies.

HM 12" 005

The first 102 will be green haze colored vinyl and the remaining copies will be black.

HM 12" 003

Vinyl is nice and heavy (140-160g) with beautiful full-color jackets. All of the artwork and lyrics have been included on the back jacket. Record also includes a full digital download code of the release.

HM 12" 002

Records will ship after August 8th. It is post paid in the USA for $15 in the online store. Please note the correct buttons for out of country buyers!

Details: This is a split release with the Australian label Hobbledehoy. There will be roughly 400 copies available in the USA, the rest of the pressing is going to Australia. The first to pre-order will be the first to get the limited color. Once they are gone they are gone for good. This will not be repressed. If you order more than one copy you will get 1 green haze and the rest on black vinyl, unitl the green ones are gone. These will not last long, do not sleep on this.

HM 12" 004

This record has been a labor of love and I am proud to finally have it released. I've always been the guy in the band trying to get as much out as possible on the vinyl format and this one has been a long time coming. Please continue to support music on the vinyl format from independent labels.

iTunes: Mason Jennings: Forgiveness

Man, it has been awhile, no? I have been hiding indoors the last few months. It's been a pretty lousy winter here in Milwaukee. Can you believe we got 14 inches of snow on the second day of spring? What is up with that?

Anyway, regardless of the weather it is still spring cleaning time here at GTA. I've got a few boxes of stuff to clear out, so for a limited time I'm offering the Hey Mercedes unorchestrated EP for 5 bucks which includes domestic shipping charges anywhere in the USA for the month of April. You have until April 30th to place your order. This ain't no April fools joke, neither. Just trying to make some room!

Every order will come with assorted stickers and stuff I have lying around, so if you've been debating picking it up - do so soon! I've only got a few left, so if I run out, the sale will end and your money will be refunded. There is one little catch. It has to be done a special way: You must add ONLY the "outside USA shipping CD" to your cart. It is found at the very top of the Store page. This will add a total of $5 to your order. I will know what it is for and you will receive your EP and goodies in the mail within the week. Pretty sweet.

Anyways, there is some more exciting news around the corner. Check back soon for details!

iTunes: Seaweed: Clean Slate

Holy cow. Four months between blogs, what a sad state. I need to get back on the bandwagon for sure. There is nothing really going on over here though. It's been a boring few months with little to report. The only real news is that GTA is looking forward to New Ruins finishing their current record. They have been slaving away for months and I cannot wait to hear it. Hopefully we will get something together by them to release sometime soon, maybe early 2008?

Summer has come and gone. The Milwaukee weather is gray and the days are getting short. This time of year brings on my annual band reminisce and lately it's been Seaweed, one of my all-time favorites, and just in time too: I cannot believe I'm missing their re-union show dates. About this time every year I regress back to a past catalogue of an old favorite when the seasons change. It is usually due to the fact I'm completely bored with everything that is new and just want old nostalgic favorites playing that I know and love. It is partially due to my laziness in not wanting to do the legwork and find something new and fresh that I like that just came out. Maybe it has something to do with the Midwest weather in the fall? It can be a melancholy time of year, in a good way.

In other news, many of you know I love the band Tiger Lou. It appears Rasmus and crew are working on a new record and that makes me happy. Here is a little sample demo posted on his website of a new song called "Coalitions". Exciting!

iTunes: Smashing Pumpkins: Stand Inside Your Love

I know it's been awhile, but I've been busy with 2 jobs and summer. But there is a lot going on. First off, there are a few GTA related items up on eBay this week right here. It seems people would much rather bid on stuff than buy direct from the online store, and that is cool by me. It's fun! Check them out if you are interested.

For those residing overseas, there are a few more shows left for The City On Film. He is not abroad very often, so try to catch him if you can. The remaining dates are with Owen and are listed on his myspace page here.

Australia look for The City On Film playing your country in August in support of the Australian version of In Formal Introduction released in the spring on Hobbledhoy Records.

Bob/The City On Film was also featured in The Magazine (online) awhile back. The issue is here for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for reading and for the support.
